Stainless Steel Pool with a Retractable Floor, in collaboration with Luni Architects

We collaborated with Luni architects on the construction of a premium stainless-steel pool with a lifting floor at a private villa in Klecany . The key element of the entire solution is the hydraulic lifting floor, thanks to which the pool is not just a fixed body of water, but becomes a variable part of the outdoor architecture.

A stainless steel pool designed to complement the home’s architecture

A stainless-steel swimming pool with internal dimensions of 6 × 3 × 1.35 m was created for the villa. The design also takes into account the height required for the installation of a lifting floor. The pool is installed in a prepared concrete basin and its walls have a clean, polished surface without nubs.

Water circulation is ensured by a combination of three skimmer edges and one hidden overflow side made of 1.4462 stainless steel. The concealed design of the overflow helps maintain the minimalist lines of the pool and allows the water surface to be integrated into the surrounding architecture without unnecessarily visible technical details.

The effective use of space is one of the important issues in luxury residential buildings. A standard swimming pool occupies a permanently defined area in the garden or on the terrace. However, the hydraulic lifting floor allows the character of this space to be changed as required.

The entrance to the pool consists of a straight, three-step staircase that runs across its entire width. The steps are a direct part of the structure of the lifting floor. When the height of the bottom is changed, the steps move with it, and the entire pool retains a compact and visually clean design.

Counter-current for active swimming

The variable design in no way limits the possibilities of using the pool itself. The equipment includes a two-jet stainless-steel UWE Bambo counter-current system with a flow rate of 75 m³/h. The six-metre pool therefore also provides conditions for more active swimming.

White Teclumen LED lighting with a diameter of 170 mm is installed in the pool wall . The light offers a luminous flux of 5,770 lm and a colour temperature of 5,300 K. In the evening, it highlights the character of the stainless-steel surface and at the same time helps to integrate the water surface into the overall atmosphere of the garden.

The technological part consists of a FEX 3/500 laminate filter with active filter glass, a Speck Comfort 14 circulation pump and an Aseko Aqua HOME automatic chemical treatment system. Water heating is provided by an Elecro G-2 heat exchanger with an output of 122 kW. The overflow system is complemented by a 3 m³ storage tank equipped with level monitoring, refilling and pressure regulation.

A retractable floor expands the possibilities of the entire outdoor space

The project in Klecany shows how a lifting floor can change the way an architect works with a swimming pool in a premium residential project. The water surface no longer has to function as an unchanging element of the garden. On the contrary, it can be connected to the geometry of the terrace and the materials used, and the entire space can be transformed as required.

The supporting structure of the lifting floor uses a hydraulic mechanism with controls. The height of the floor can be changed according to what the pool owner wants to use it for. When fully raised, a flat surface can be created that connects to the surrounding terrace.

At the same time, the structure is ready for surface covering with stone or paving. The architect can thus choose the same or a corresponding material as in the surrounding area and visually connect the covered pool with the terrace.

The result is a solution that goes beyond the form of a classic swimming pool located in the garden. The pool, lifting floor, steps, overflow system, attractions and complete technology function as a single unit designed in connection with a specific architectural concept.
