After ten years of intensive hotel operation, the stainless steel pools and other IMAGINOX wellness products are still in great condition. The project for the Bedřiška Hotel in Špindlerův Mlýn shows why it pays to invest in high-quality materials, precision workmanship and timeless design. We created a comprehensive wellness facility for the hotel, including a large stainless steel pool, a circular hot tub, a special pool for floating, a cooling pool and a steam bath with a sauna.
Hotel wellness facilities are among the most demanding environments in terms of daily use, hygiene and maintenance. Stainless steel is therefore the ideal material for commercial operations. It is extremely durable, has a long service life, is easy to clean and, thanks to its smooth, non-porous surface, reduces the build-up of dirt. Large stainless steel overflow pool with a massage jet
The centrepiece of the wellness area is an L-shaped IMAGINOX stainless steel infinity pool measuring 12 × 6 metres and 1.35 metres deep. The pool is heated to a pleasant 30°C and offers plenty of space for swimming and relaxation. The facilities include a large crescent-shaped stainless steel water jet, which provides a pleasant water massage. The atmosphere is rounded off by striking underwater lighting and an elegant stainless steel overflow grating.
Overflow technology ensures the continuous drainage of water from the surface into the overflow system and contributes to the effective removal of surface impurities. In addition, the stainless steel design offers a smooth surface without the traditional tile joints, which tend to be more difficult to clean. It is precisely this combination that is extremely practical for hotel operations.
A round stainless-steel hot tub with 56 hydromassage jets
Another part of the wellness area is the luxurious circular IMAGINOX stainless steel hot tub with a capacity for five adults. The hot tub has 56 hydromassage jets that provide an intense body massage, and an air bench with an air bubble massage that follows its circular shape. The depth of the water is 100 cm and its temperature ranges from 36 to 38°C.
The design element is an infinity negative edge overflow edge. The water elegantly overflows over the edge into a gutter located below and covered with small stones. This solution gives the hot tub an exclusive look while combining technical functionality with wellness architecture. The stainless steel construction is also suitable from a hygiene point of view. An easy-to-maintain surface and high mechanical resistance are particularly important for hot tubs that are regularly exposed to warm water, pool chemicals and intensive use.
A special stainless-steel floating pool with a high salt content
Another technologically interesting part of the project is the special stainless steel pool designed for floating, i.e. a relaxation procedure based on the body floating in water with an exceptionally high concentration of salts and minerals. At Hotel Bedřiška, the floating bath has a temperature of approximately 37 °C. Thanks to the high density of the water, it mimics the environment of the Dead Sea and allows visitors to float on the surface almost effortlessly. This results in deep relaxation of the muscles, spine and joints.
It is precisely the high concentration of salt that poses a major technological challenge. This is because the ordinary stainless steel used for standard swimming pools may not be sufficiently resistant to such an aggressive environment.
For floating pools, it is therefore necessary to choose a special corrosion-resistant stainless steel with increased resistance to chlorides. Depending on the salt concentration and operating conditions, high-alloy or duplex steels are used. The correct design of welds, structural details and corrosion protection are also important.

Stainless steel cooling pool and cooling treatments
We supplied a stainless steel cooling pool and other cooling elements for the sauna area of the hotel’s wellness centre. The project includes a cooling bucket, massage showers and an automatic ice maker. After using the sauna, visitors can also make use of crushed ice at a temperature of approximately −5 °C, a cold shower or a gentle falling mist. The ice bucket offers intensive cooling with water at a temperature of approximately 10 °C.
Stainless steel is the ideal material for cooling pools thanks to its high resistance to water, hygienic surface and easy maintenance. In addition, in commercial wellness facilities, it allows the creation of individual shapes and structures adapted to the space.
A steam bath for the ultimate relaxation experience
The wellness centre is complemented by a steam bath with a temperature of approximately 45 °C and a relative humidity of up to 100%. The steam room includes heated benches, which make the treatment more pleasant and promote even warming of the body.
Unlike a traditional Finnish sauna, a steam bath offers a lower temperature and significantly higher humidity. Guests can therefore combine different ways of relaxing and then cooling down according to their preferences.
